Design Brain

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Overview

Design Brain is a private, single-user personal tool. It is operated by one individual for their own use only. It is not a commercial product, it has no other users, and it does not offer accounts, sign-ups, or services to the public.

The tool connects to the Pinterest API to read the operator's own Pinterest boards and pins, organize and search them privately, and — with the operator's explicit action — create or update pins and boards on that same account.

Who operates this application

Design Brain is operated by David Rosner as a personal project.

What data is accessed

Through the Pinterest API, and only for the operator's own Pinterest account, the application accesses:

What it accesses

  • Board names, descriptions, privacy settings, and pin counts
  • Pin titles, descriptions, alt text, destination links, and creation dates
  • Pin image URLs and the images themselves
  • Basic account information required to identify the authorized account

What it never accesses

  • Other users' accounts, boards, or pins
  • Pinterest passwords or login credentials
  • Payment information
  • Contacts, messages, or follower data
  • Advertising or conversion data

How data is used

Data is used solely to:

  1. Maintain a private, searchable index of the operator's own pins
  2. Generate descriptive tags (such as room type, style, and materials) to make that index easier to search
  3. Produce private documents, such as reference documents shared with the operator's own contractors or designers
  4. Create or modify pins and boards on the operator's own Pinterest account when the operator explicitly requests it

Data is not used for advertising, profiling, resale, model training, or any commercial purpose.

How data is stored and secured

Pinterest data is stored in a private database and private object storage controlled solely by the operator. Access is restricted to the operator and requires authentication. Copies of pin images are retained so the tool functions if a source URL changes.

Authentication tokens are stored in a permission-restricted file on the operator's own private server. They are never committed to source control and never shared.

Sharing

Data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. No advertising networks, analytics services, or data brokers receive any of this data.

Two categories of infrastructure providers process data on the operator's behalf under their own terms: the database and storage providers that host the private index, and an AI provider used to generate descriptive tags for the operator's own images. These providers act as processors only and do not receive Pinterest credentials.

Documents generated for the operator's personal projects may be shared by the operator with their own service providers, at the operator's discretion.

Retention and deletion

Data is retained as long as the operator finds it useful and is deleted at the operator's discretion. Because the operator is the only user, any deletion request is self-executed. Revoking the application's access in Pinterest account settings immediately ends all further data access.

Children's privacy

This application is not directed at children and has no users other than its operator.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the tool changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
